“Magic: The Gathering” has been a popular role-playing card game since the ‘90s, but the cards’ maker, Wizards of the Coast (WOTC), has kept it popular by constantly reinventing it.
In May, WOTC released its latest set: Streets of New Capenna, a mix of demonic lore, mafia noir and art deco. Imaginary Forces brings that world to life in the above trailer created in CG that gives fans information about each of the game’s five mafia demon families.
“Stylistically, the look and lighting embrace a film noir essence. The striking mob boss characters are illustrated in different styles, so we constructed unique scenarios for each boss to showcase their strengths while bringing them into the 3D world and creating dimensionality to the story,” writes Imaginary Forces on its website.
“Choose family or choose consequences. Family means business,” says the spot’s narrator as it closes out.
