After what seems like six months of straight panels on television, the Television Critics Association summer press tour finally came to a close, with NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt making all kinds of news, including the fact that NBC is definitely out of the Trump business.

But other stuff happened during the week too.

Trump was the gift that kept on giving, and his outspoken performance during the Republican debates gave the broadcast the weekly Twitter win.

Trump’s presidential run is one reason Stephen Colbert can barely wait to get back on late night. “I wanted to do jokes on Donald Trump so badly and I have no venue,” he told the TCA crowd on Monday.

Sticking with news, but on a more serious note, MSNBC is moving toward the middle after struggling in third place. NBC’s disgraced anchor, Brian Williams, will be a core part of that effort, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Back at TCA, Showtime chief David Nevins countered FX’s John Landgraf’s earlier comments that we are at “peak TV,” saying “there’s never enough great TV.”

And as always, we send you off for the weekend with our favorite of the week’s Hot Spots to enjoy one more time:
