Ibra Morales has been named the new president of MundoFox, effective immediately.

He is joining the Spanish-language network from Katz Television Group, where he was SVP of national marketing.

Before that he was president of Telemundo Station Group, and SVP of sales at Hearst-Argyle Television.

MundoFox, a joint venture of RCN Television Group and Fox International Channels, launched in the fall of 2012.

“Since we launched MundoFox in Fall 2012, we’ve said that building a major new U.S. Hispanic broadcast network is a marathon not a sprint. In Ibra, we not only have an experienced television executive but an active marathoner. That’s a great combination,” said FIC CEO Hernan Lopez.

Brief Take: MundoFox has brought in a veteran TV exec to try to help that channel as it struggles to gain traction faced with rivals Telemundo and Univision.
