From Salem’s Lot to The Shining, Hulu’s upcoming psychological horror series Castle Rock weaves together characters and situations from works by author Stephen King, “brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.”

King himself serves as a writer for the series, which is executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson and Liz Glotzer.

Castle Rock “combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland,” according to Hulu.

The series gets its name from the fictional town in King’s home state that’s often featured in his works, including Cujo, The Dark Half, Needful Things, The Body, Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption.

Castle Rock is produced by Warner Bros. and Bad Robot. It will be distributed globally, and stream exclusively on Hulu in the U.S.
