In November, National Geographic will reboot Explorer, TV’s longest-running documentary series.

First up, the show has a new host, Richard Bacon, and this spot features different creative portraits that illustrate some of the stories he’ll be telling this season.

Bacon already seems pretty game, considering that for this promo shoot alone he had to be doused with three gallons of honey, get zipped into a body bag, eat REAL bugs, be covered in paint and sit in a box of swamp water.

National Geographic’s Explorer premieres Monday, Nov. 14 at 10/9 p.m. ET in the U.S.
