Apparently warming up for a show isn’t that much different from warming up for a game for these former Major League Baseball players turned MLB Network baseball analysts.
The 30-second spot titled “MLB Tonight: Warmup” depicts 13 MLB Network analysts—the most ever used in a single spot—in a pre-game warmup on the field inside Studio 42 before heading to Studio 3 for the start of the network’s Emmy-winning daily show.
Produced by MLB Network writer/producer Kirk Willoughby with Black Watch Productions, the single camera-style spot features Eric Byrnes, Sean Casey, Ryan Dempster, Mark DeRosa, Cliff Floyd, Al Leiter, Kevin Millar, Pedro Martinez, Carlos Pena, Dan Plesac, Harold Reynolds, Bill Ripken and John Smoltz, along with host Greg Amsinger. Between them, the group has 30 All-Star appearances, six World Series titles, four Cy Young Awards, one no-hitter, one American League stolen base title, one All-Star Game MVP, and two Hall of Famers.
