In honor of Memorial Day, the 100th anniversary of World War I and the 70th anniversary of D-Day, History is adding a special tribute to its Mission to Honor campaign that pays homage to the U.S.‘s veterans.

The social media campaign and tribute gallery will also incorporate user-generated on-air spots starring veterans. Viewers can submit photos and stories of people they know who are in or have served in the military, which History can then use in photo galleries and on-air vignettes.

“This is very special way to involve our viewers and help preserve the stories of people past and present who have served our country as we reflect on the 100th anniversary of World War I and the 70th anniversary of D-Day,” said Dr. Libby O’Connell, chief historian and SVP of corporate outreach for History, in a statement.

The campaign is folded into History’s upcoming three-night series “The World Wars,” which will begin on Memorial Day, May 26:
