Old Saturday Night Live pals Fred Armisen and Bill Hader are back for season two of IFC’s documentary spoof series, Documentary Now!, on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. ET.
One two-part episode, Mr. Runner Up: My Life as an Oscar Bridesmaid, features guest appearances from such stars as Peter Bogdanovich, Mia Farrow, Peter Fonda and Anne Hathaway. The episode pays homage to The Kid Stays in the Picture, the documentary profile of actor Robert Evans.

In the season premiere, The Bunker (sneak peek below), Armisen and Hader play scheming campaign managers who are working on the Ohio governor’s race, in an episode inspired by 1993’s The War Room, featuring James Carville and George Stephanopoulos. 1987’s Swimming to Cambodia also will get the Documentary Now! treatment this season, in an episode titled Parker Gail’s Location is Everything.

Documentary Now! is created and executive produced by Armisen, Hader, Meyers, and Thomas, who serves as the show’s director alongside Alex Buono. Produced by Lorne Michael’s Broadway Video, the show is also executive produced by Buono, Michaels and Broadway Video’s Andrew Singer. John Mulaney (Mulaney, SNL) serves as co-executive producer and Erik Kenward (SNL) is consulting producer.
