HBO Max’s new half-hour original series Genera+ion explores the shifting state of youth identity and sexuality.

The show’s first three episodes drop on HBO Max on Thursday, March 11, with two more on March 18, two more on March 25 and one more on April 1. The second half of the season which comprises another eight episodes will premiere on HBO Max later this year.

Genera+ion is created and executive produced by 19-year-old Zelda Barnz and her fathers Daniel and Ben Barnz for We’re Not Brothers Productions. The entire Barnz family, including Zelda’s brother Dashiell, identifies as queer, which inspired the series.

Besides the Barnz, Lena Dunham and her Good Thing Going Productions also executive produce along with Sharr White and John Melfi. In fact, Zelda lived with and interned for Dunham, creator, star and executive producer of HBO’s Girls, while she was executive producing HBO’s Industry in Wales.

The series also is co-executive produced by Sono Patel and Fernanda Coppel. It’s produced by Marissa Díaz and Michael Cohen for Good Thing Going Productions. Writers include Zelda Barnz, Daniel Barnz, Dunham, White, Max Saltarelli, Eli Wilson Pelton and Christina Nieves. Directors include Daniel Barnz, Channing Godfrey Peoples, Chioke Nassor, Catalina Aguilar Mastretta, Anu Valia and Andrew Ahn.

The ensemble cast includes Nathanya Alexander, Chloe East, Nava Mau, Lukita Maxwell, Haley Sanchez, Uly Schlesinger, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Chase Sui Wonders with Justice Smith and Martha Plimpton. Recurring guest stars include J. August Richards, Mary Birdsong, Alicia Coppola, Patricia De Leon, Diego Josef, Anthony Kevyan, Sydney Mae Diaz, John Ross Bowie, Marwan Salama, Marisela Zumbado and Sam Trammell.
