As it announced the rollout of HBO Max in 27 European territories, HBO/HBO Max also offered looks at some of its biggest coming content, including the first teaser for Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon; a launch date for the next Sex and the City chapter, And Just Like That; a clip from the upcoming third season of Succession, returning Oct. 17; and a trailer for John Cena’s new series, Peacemaker, based off his character in The Suicide Squad.

The first European countries to get HBO Max are Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Spain and Andorra on Oct. 26. HBO Max will then come to Central and Eastern Europe, Portugal, the Netherlands, Turkey, Greece, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania next year.

HBO Max provides five hubs of WarnerMedia brands: Warner Bros., HBO, Max Originals, DC and Cartoon Network as well as Warner Bros.’ theatrical movies 45 days after their theatrical release. It replaces existing HBO-branded streaming services in 20 territories in the Nordics, Spain, Portugal and Central and Eastern Europe and will be available to both new customers as well as existing customers, billed either directly or via eligible partners.

HBO Max will offer European consumers a yearly subscription that includes 12 months of access for the price of eight, a savings of more than 30% on what they are currently paying for HBO. Customers also can pay by the month. Special introductory prices for new customers will be announced before the service goes live in the Nordics, Spain and Andorra on Oct. 26.

HBO Max aspires to be in 190 territories around the world by 2026, said Johannes Larcher, head of HBO Max International, on Tuesday.

One of 2022’s most-anticipated new series, HBO on Tuesday released the first live-action teaser for upcoming Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon.

“Gods. Kings. Fire. And blood. Dreams didn’t make us kings. Dragons did,” says Daemon Targaryen, played by Matt Smith, in the teaser.

Also briefly glimpsed are other cast members, including Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Olivia Cook as Alicent Hightower, Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, the “Sea Snake,” and more. HBO also announced new members to the already sprawling cast, including Wil Johnson as Ser Vaemond Velaryon, John Macmillan as Ser Laenor Velaryon, Savannah Steyn as Lady Laena Velayron and Theo Nate as Ser Laenor Velaryon

House of the Dragon is co-created and executive produced by George R. R. Martin and it’s based on Martin’s book, Fire and Blood, which serves as a history of the Targaryen dynasty. Ryan Condal is co-creator, co-showrunner and writer. Miguel Spochnik, who directed many of Game of Thrones’ most celebrated and battle-heavy episodes, including “Battle of the Bastards,” also co-showruns and directed the pilot and other episodes. Also executive producing are Vince Gerardis, Ron Schmid and Sara Hess, who also writes. Directors are Clare Kilner, Geeta V. Patel and Greg Yaitanes, who also co-executive produces.

Before that, however, the next chapter in the Sex and the City story, And Just Like That…, will release in December, following the lives of three best friends Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis).
