Picking up toward the end of the Mad Men era, Amazon’s new series Good Girls Revolt is inspired by the 1969 dispute in pay between men and women at Newsweek.
The series follows a group of young female researchers at News of the Week as they fight for equality in the workplace, sparking changes in their marriages, careers, sex lives, love lives and friendships.
“I don’t want to just watch the news, I want to be a part of it,” one of the girls says in the trailer.
Cast members include Grace Gummer, Genevieve Angelson, Anna Camp, Erin Drake, Chris Diamantopoulos, Hunter Parrish and Jim Belushi.
Good Girls Revolt, set to debut October 28, is based on the Lynn Povich book of the same name.
