The mother-daughter banter and quirky characters in the official trailer for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life sets a familiar tone for Netflix’s revival of the series.

The story picks up 10 years after the original, with Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke (Scott Patterson) together, Lorelai’s mother Emily (Kelly Bishop) a widow, and Rory (Alexis Bleidel) pursuing her journalism career.

Scenes from the trailer show Lorelai and Rory hanging out around town, Lorelai questioning her relationship with Luke, Emily dealing with the loss of her husband and Rory struggling in an industry in the midst of upheaval.

Netflix also released new art for the series:

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is told through four 90-minute chapters—each spanning one season: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall. Returning cast members also include Keiko Agena, Liza Weil, Matt Czuchry, Milo Ventimiglia, Jared Padalecki and Melissa McCarthy as Sookie.

The series launches Friday, November 25 on Netflix.
