The days of sending ravens have apparently gone the way of summer as the United Kingdom’s Royal Mail unveiled a collection of Game of Thrones stamps.

The 15 first-class stamps honoring the HBO series were designed by creative studio GBH, which consulted each of the actors depicted in order to create images that captured their character’s storylines.

“We wanted to capture each character’s best moments in as powerful and evocative a way as possible, which is a challenge when there are such long sequences of action in a show dealing with varied and complex themes,” GBH Co-Founder and Creative Director Mark Bonner told Design Week.

The collection includes 10 main stamps featuring the show’s key players from houses Stark, Targaryen, Lannister and Tyrell and a mini-sheet of five stamps with non-human characters including white walkers, direwolves, dragons, giants, and the Iron Throne itself.

GBH also created a presentation pack with an exclusive illustration, a First Day Cover collection that’s able to be personalized, framed stamps and framed stamp sheets, and limited edition medal covers as part of the collaboration between Royal Mail and The Royal Mint.

The Game of Throne collection goes into circulation on January 23, and Royal Mail is taking preorders.

“Like the show, they’re going to be popular,” the postage service says on its website.

GBH worked with independent illustrator Robert Ball to create designs that would appeal to both stamp collectors and fans of the show.

The GBH team included design director Dave Wood, senior designer Heidi Shepherd and designer Jack Mercer. Smoke and Mirrors senior CG artist and retoucher Danny Holden worked on post-production.
