Get ready for another mind-f—king season of FX’s American Horror Story —and this time around it’s a crossover of season one’s “Murder House” and season three’s “Coven” called “Apocalypse.”
Disturbing images are stitched together in this teaser—a la an “exquisite corpse” pastiche—from a delicate fetus in an hourglass to a nuclear Armageddon to a fig filled with scorpions and then back to the hourglass. We are already grossed out—and intrigued.
FX has been named PromaxBDA’s Marketing Team of the Year for the past eight years, and a big part of those wins are for the network’s wildly creative campaigns for each season of American Horror Story; last year, it was “Cult.”

Sarah Paulson again stars and will direct the sixth episode, which also will feature the return of Jessica Lange, who won two Emmys for her role in AHS. Also returning to the cast are Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Stevie Nicks, who played “Coven”‘s White Witch.
Guess who's coming back for AHS APOCALYPSE? Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and….Stevie Nicks. So thrilled the family is together again! #AHSApocalypse

Cody Fern, featured player in another Ryan Murphy vehicle, American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace, will play the Satanic spawn of Evan Peters and Connie Britton initially conceived in season one. Britton will not be back, but Peters will, and he will be joined by regular cast members Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd and Emma Roberts.
Last Friday, FX announced that it had renewed American Horror Story through season ten. Apocalypse will debut season eight.
American Horror Story: Apocalypse returns to FX on Wednesday, Sept. 12.
