Filled with images of glamour juxtaposed against a gritty New York City, Pose introduces its cast of transgender divas in the first official trailer from FX.
In the above spot, the divas ransack an exhibit in order to morph into royalty for one of their balls, which, for them, are equal to family get-togethers.
“Balls are a gathering of people who are not welcome to gather anywhere else,” notes one, explaining the events to a newcomer.
The eight-episode series, from Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals, premieres June 3. It stars Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar and Angelica Ross as well as Evan Peters, Kate Mara, James Van Der Beek, Billy Porter, Charlayne Woodard, and newcomers Ryan Jamaal Swain, Dyllón Burnside and Angel Bismark Curiel.
The series is executive produced by Murphy, Falchuk, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall and Sherry Marsh. Canals and Silas Howard serve as co-executive producers, and Janet Mock, Our Lady J and Erica Kay also serve as producers. The eight-episode first season is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.
