Freaky Friday meets Mean Girls in Freeform’s new series, Cruel Summer, executive produced by Jessica Biel.

In the show, Kate Wallis (Olivia Holt) is the popular girl with a cute boyfriend and a charmed life until one day she goes missing. On the other hand, Jeanette Turner (Chiara Aurelia) is the nerdy wannabe accused of having something to do with Wallis’ disappearance. Jeanette goes from nerd to popular girl to most despised person in America over the course of three summers.

The story is told through shifting points of views as the audience tries to figure out what really happened.

Besides Holt and Aurelia, the series stars Michael Landes, Froy Gutierrez, Harley Quinn Smith, Allius Barnes, Blake Lee and Brooklyn Sudano. Cruel Summer comes from eOne and was created by Bert V. Royal. Tia Napolitano is showrunner and she executive produces along with Royal and Iron Ocean Productions’ Biel and Michelle Purple. Max Winkler directs and executive produced the pilot.

Cruel Summer debuts in a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, April 20 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with new episodes airing Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT and next day on Hulu.
