What would life look like as a teenager with no rules or parental supervision? Enter Netflix’s latest mystery that’s set to premiere this May, The Society.

Described as a modern-day version of Lord of the Flies, the series follows a group of teenagers who are mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their wealthy New England town without any trace of their parents.

At first, it’s all fun and games; however, things become dangerous as power comes into play. They soon realize that they must re-establish order and society to survive their new environment—and each other.

“We’re not gonna ask for power,” a rebellious teen says in the trailer. “We’re gonna take it.”

The series is executive produced by Marc Webb and showrunner Chris Keyser. The cast includes Rachel Keller (Legion), Kathryn Newton (Blockers), Alex Fitzalan (Slender Man), Kristine Froseth (Sierra Burgess Is a Loser), Sean Berdy (Switched at Birth), Gideon Adlon (Blockers) and more.

The 10-episode first season premieres Friday, May 10 on Netflix.
