Fox is both promoting its new show, Next, starring John Slattery, and doing a good deed by offering viewers the chance to recycle their digital devices in a safe, no-contact manner on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2 and 3. Because you never know when your gadgets are watching you.

All it requires is for wannabe recyclers to sign up for a time slot, then drive on over to the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage parking lot at 1310 11th Street, Santa Monica, Calif., to drop off a wide range of electronic devices, including CD and DVD drives, smart phones, tablets, hard drives, laptops, modems, motherboards and more. The full list is available below.

Fox is partnering with Homeboy Industries on the contactless event.

The series stars Slattery as genius developer Paul LeBlanc who realizes the artificial intelligence he pioneered has woken up and become deadly. When he alerts his company to this, his own brother, Ted (Jason Butler Harner) kicks him out, so he joins forces with Special Agent Shea Salazar (Fernanda Andrade) and her team. LeBlanc and Salazar soon find they have a lot in common, including uncompromising drive and a tendency to ignore their loved ones as a result.

Next is produced by Disney-owned 20th Television and Fox. The series is executive produced by Manny Coto, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, Charlie Gogolak and Tim Hunter. The pilot episode was directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra.

Next premieres Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 9/8 c on Fox.
