Host Danny Trejo (Machete, Sons of Anarchy) and his team of weapon experts and blacksmiths will be back for season two of Man at Arms: Art of War, and are geared up for even more smashing when the El Rey Network series returns on October 4 at 8 p.m.
The 10-new episodes will feature arms and armor from ancient Japan, China, Philippines and Persia. The experienced craftsmen also will create arms and armor inspired by iconic pop culture, comic books, movies, video games, and TV shows, while the team of weapon experts will put these arms to the ultimate tests.
Season two will continue the collaboration between El Rey Network and Defy Media, the media company behind the Man at Arms digital series.
In each episode, the expert teams skillfully recreate famed weapons and armor from scratch, using both the technology that would have been available at the time, as well as state-of-the-art technologies beyond the original forgers’ wildest imaginations, to create historical, modern, and mythological works of martial art.
Each one is then tested by experts for its strength and real-world functionality, whether it slices, shoots, smashes, stabs, blocks, parries or disarms.
The digital series has released more than 150 episodes, and has garnered a passionate fan community which each averaging more than 1.5 million views.
Man at Arms: Art of War is produced by Defy Media and presented by El Rey Network.
