With experience that spans commercials, network promos and co-branded and content assignments as well as a keen sensibility for comedy and dialogue-driven projects, post-production boutique Northern Lights has hired editor Bill Cramer.

“I’ve known Bill for years. He’s disciplined, creative, passionate, dedicated to his craft and to making every project a success,” Northern Lights Executive Producer Robin Hall said in a statement. “It’s been exciting to watch his career develop from afar. It’s even more exciting now that he’s joined us here at Northern Lights; he’s a perfect fit.”

Cramer joins the company from a 20-year stint at post production facility Crew Cuts, where he worked with diverse clients such as BBDO, Publicis, Grey, USA, MSNBC, Nickelodeon Creative Advertising, and ESPN. He’s also collaborated with directors such as Andrews Jenkins, Greg Bell, Phil Joanou and Chris Hooper.

While there he won Silver Lion at Cannes for his work on Showbound Naturals dog food, and a gold PromaxBDA award for a Law & Order campaign he cut for Cloo.

“I like comedy/dialogue editing best, especially the challenge of crafting the funniest story possible,” Cramer said in a statement. “It’s super satisfying to take a concept and make it more memorable or more moving than expected. I am also a former DJ who loves music and collects way too many vinyl records.”
