DreamWorks Animation named Brenda Freeman head of television marketing on Tuesday, just as the animation studio is growing its television division.
Freeman comes to DreamWorks Animation from Turner Animation, where she served as CMO, overseeing marketing strategy for Cartoon Network.
“Brenda’s vast experience in branding, marketing, and distribution of family and kids programming will be invaluable as we continue to grow our television division,” said DreamWorks Animation CMO Dawn Taubin. “We are thrilled to have such a veteran of the industry join our team.”
Prior to her role at Turner, she served as SVP of Integrated Marketing and Promotions for Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group. There, she oversaw the development and execution of promotions marketing for several brands, including Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Noggin, The N, NickToons Network, and Nick at Night.
DreamWorks Animation has already announced a major ramp up in television production, with a commitment to provide 1,100 hours of original programming to Netflix, SuperRTL (Germany), and Planeta Junior (Spain, Italy, and the Mediterranean).
