Netflix unveiled an extended trailer for its latest docuseries, offering an up-close-and-personal look at the world’s most wondrous creatures.
The eight-episode series, Our Planet, spans across all seven continents and its monstrous oceans, revealing never-before-seen 4K footage of wildlife and their habitats. It’ll also explain why the natural world matters to us all, how it’s constantly changing, and the necessary steps to preserve it, according to Netflix.

In addition to Sir David Attenborough, who was previously announced as the voice-over narrator, Netflix enlisted Penélope Cruz to narrate the series for Spain and Salma Hayek for Latin America.
“The series is spectacularly beautiful and the message of conservation could not be more timely or important,” Penélope Cruz said in a statement. “I feel very close to everything Our Planet stands for and I’m proud to bring such a powerful piece of work to my home country and audiences around the world.”
“Our Planet transcends borders to deliver an inspiring message of wonder, respect and care for our natural world,” Salma Hayek said. “I’m honored to work with Netflix to help bring the series to those in my home country of Mexico, and to a Spanish-language audience throughout Latin America and the rest of the globe.”
Viewers will also be treated to special behind-the-scenes footage that will launch simultaneously, showcasing the making of the series that enlisted hundreds of crew members over four years of production in 50 countries around the world.
Our Planet comes from the creators of the Emmy-winning docuseries Planet Earth. It launches globally April 5 on Netflix.
