PromaxBDA this year held the Creating What’s Next student competition. Winners were announced by Extra’s Mario Lopez on video on May 16 and also celebrated on the PromaxBDA stage in New York last week.
Students were asked to enter work created while enrolled in an accredited program in 2017. That work was judged by executives from networks and creative agencies, including A+E, Fox, NBC, Univison, Disney, Hammer Creative, Pop TV, Roger and more.
Here, we are going to feature each of the winners, starting with the above, which won gold in the category of general image spot.
Titled “Boss Coffee Seems Cold, But It’s Warm,” this spot is by Jack McNamara, a student at Virginia Commonwealth University. VCU Brandcenter is a two-year master’s program “focused on developing the best creative problem-solvers in the world of brands.”
This spot proves that sometimes all you need is great writing.
