ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is perhaps the show that fans are most looking forward to checking out at this week’s Comic-Con in San Diego. ABC is prepping for that anticipation with a weekend full of events, including allowing fans to spend a little time with their hero, executive producer Joss Whedon.
ABC and Marvel Comics are collaborating to promote “S.H.I.E.L.D.” in San Diego, the highlight of which is a panel with Joss Whedon, series lead Clark Gregg and Marvel’s head of television and series executive producer Jeph Loeb. According to ABC Entertainment Group’s EVP and CMO Marla Provencio, “Joss Whedon and Marvel never disappoint. You just never know what they have planned.”
To increase the show’s exposure at the convention, Marvel-branded trolleys with “S.H.I.E.L.D.” art plastered against their sides will appear outside of the convention center every day throughout the week.
ABC’s other plans for Comic-Con include a panel with the cast of spinoff series “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland,” a replica of Once’s Jolly Roger pirate ship on the show’s convention floor, ABC-branded pedicabs available for foot-sore convention goers to take around the show. A few lucky Comic-Con goers will be able to skirt the “Once” panel lines by tweeting the following and collecting pins: #agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, #Once Upon a Time, #Once Wonderland, or #Once Pin Trade.
