Cindy Olsen has been named vice president of marketing at Endemol Shine North America, said Marisa Hammonds, senior vice president, digital marketing and research, to whom she will report.

“Cindy brings a wealth of experience from some of the top networks and studios in the industry to our team here at Endemol Shine North America,” said Hammonds in a statement. “Her creative instincts and collaborative approach will be invaluable as we continue to evolve how we grow and engage audiences around our shows and IP.”

Olsen comes from Universal Pictures where she was director of creative and account management. In that role, she led global and regional partner marketing, media and licensed campaigns for the studio’s theatrical releases in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She worked with such top brands as McDonald’s, Nutella, General Mills to execute advertising campaigns tied to the films. She has more than 20 years of brand and marketing experience in television, and has worked for ABC, Bravo, NBC, Fox and Buena Vista Television.

At Endemol Shine North America — which produces such shows as Big Brother, Master Chef, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Below Deck, Page Six TV and more — she will oversee all day-to-day marketing operations.

Prior to Universal Pictures, Olsen worked for NBC Entertainment’s network partnerships team, creating custom cross-platform content tied to NBC primetime programs. Before that, she was director, strategic marketing partnerships at ABC Entertainment, where she oversaw brand tie-ins and consumer marketing as well as advertiser, distribution and promotional partnerships.

Olsen’s other roles include director of consumer marketing at Bravo, where she spearheaded consumer marketing efforts for the series launch of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and director, network distribution, for Fox Television Network. Olsen launched her career in affiliate relations at Buena Vista Television and ABC.
