CBS will simultaneously air new primetime news program, CBSN: On Assignment, across several platforms this summer, the network said Wednesday.
The primetime series will premiere Monday, July 31, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 streaming news service, as well as on CBS’ subscription video on demand service, CBS All Access. CBSN also is available at CBSNews.com. The hour-long show will air for four consecutive Mondays and include reporting from more than a dozen CBS News correspondents.
“CBSN: On Assignment will take viewers on a thought-provoking journey featuring compelling stories from around the globe. The stories are intense, interesting and immersive,” said executive producer Mosheh Oinounou in a statement.
“This is an opportunity to showcase the voices and original storytelling from CBSN to an entirely new audience,” said Nancy Lane, senior executive producer for CBS News Digital, also in a statement. “Our long-form programming enhances our live, anchored coverage throughout the day.”
CBSN can be watched on connected TV devices and gaming consoles including Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, PlayStation4, PlayStation3, Roku players and Roku TV models, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, as well as the CBS News mobile apps for Android, iOS and Windows 8.1.
