After delaying the premiere several times due to showrunner changes and extensive post-production, CBS All Access finally presented an official trailer for its upcoming series, Star Trek: Discovery at San Diego Comic-Con. The effects-laded spot has been trending on Twitter all weekend.

The spot opens with Lt. Commander Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) saying, “All life is born from chaos. The world doesn’t always adhere to logic. Sometimes down is up. And sometimes when you’re lost, you’re found.”

The action then moves to the Klingon Empire, which has been lying dormant for some time but now is ready to re-emerge. The series serves as a pre-quel to the original Star Trek series, when James T. Kirk (William Shatner) presided over the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Besides Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, Michelle Yeoh, Anthony Rapp and Rainn Wilson also star.

Also at Comic-Con, CBS hosted an exhibition of costumes, props and set designs from the upcoming series.
