HBO will join AT&T’s soon-to-launch DirecTV Now OTT service as part of a what the companies are calling a groundbreaking carriage deal that for the first time includes linear TV, online and streaming services all at once.

The agreement, announced late Friday, is part of a renewal of HBO’s agreement for DirecTV and U-verse service, that extends the existing contract and brings HBO and Cinemax content to the streaming bundle expected to roll out by the end of the year.

“With this agreement, we have created easy access to subscribe and consume HBO’s premium content across all of our platforms,” AT&T CCO Dan York said in a press release. “This is a first-of-its-kind deal for both companies and a big win for consumers, building off AT&T’s industry leading scale as an HBO distributor for the benefit of our wireless, broadband, and entertainment customer base.”

The pact will bring HBO shows like Game of Thrones and Veep to the DirecTV Now platform, and will also become a part of AT&T’s mobile video bundle offerings. DirecTV and U-verse customers will continue to have access to HBO and Cinemax content on linear TV, online and TV Everywhere apps.

Disney also previously announced that its channels, including ESPN and ABC, will be part of the DirecTV Now subscription package.

It’s unknown how much the platform will cost, and AT&T and HBO said in a press release that the companies are not disclosing financial and other details of the new agreement.

“This deal will deliver the best in TV programming to viewers across AT&T’s multi-platform experience, said Simon Sutton, president, global distribution, HBO. “The entertainment landscape has evolved and we are excited to innovate on both AT&T’s traditional and new platforms to further provide premium quality, extraordinary value and accessibility to viewers anywhere.”
