Animal Planet’s new “Surprisingly Human” branding takes on a new look, with a new on-air logo using animals as part of the logo itself.

Discovery’s in-house studio, Discovery Creative, has unveiled its new Animal Planet refresh, using animals and presenters as the missing “M” in idents and ads. The new identity will roll out across all of Discovery’s international regions.
The new look takes the place of Animal Planet’s old green logo with the sideways “M.”

“The creative strategy behind the bold new identity was to bring our surprisingly human brand promise to life,” said Federico Gaggio, VP executive creative director of the Discovery Networks, “observing how animal behaviour often reflects human behaviour, providing an entertaining insight into the nature of our programmes, which are about people as much as animals.”
