Alan Tudyk, an actor who has spent time on many an alien landscape in such films as Rogue One and Serenity, plays an alien himself in Syfy’s new comedy, Resident Alien.

Based on the Dark Horse comic, Tudyk plays an alien who crash lands on Earth with a secret mission to destroy all of humanity. But he quickly ends up masquerading as small-town doctor Harry Vanderspeigle and before long he finds himself liking humans—and pizza—too much to go through with his plan.

Syfy worked with Open Road on the above two-minute long-form trailer.

Besides Tudyk, Resident Alien also stars Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund and Levi Fiehler.

Resident Alien comes from Universal Cable Productions in association with Amblin TV and Dark Horse Entertainment. The series was adapted to television by executive producer Chris Sheridan. Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg of Dark Horse Entertainment, and Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank of Amblin TV also executive produce. David Dobkin executive produced and directed the pilot.

Resident Alien premieres Friday, Jan. 27 on Syfy.
