Count Olaf promises viewers that season two will go from bad to worse in Netflix’s teaser for the return of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
A menacing Neil Patrick Harris once again breaks the fourth wall, insulting the “Look Away” speech by narrator Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton) as “so season-one marketing” to provide his own preview of what’s in store: “more villainous treachery, more treacherous villains, angry villagers, unwanted elective surgeries, man-eating lions, more violence, fire and despair.”
Based on the Lemony Snicket book series by Daniel Handler, the story recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans – Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – and their extraordinary encounters with the devious Count Olaf who will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance.
New cast members in season two include Nathan Fillion as Jacques Snicket, Tony Hale as Jerome Squalor, Lucy Punch as as Esmé Squalor, Sara Rue as a “librarian” and Roger Bart as Vice Principal Nero.
A Series of Unfortunate Events premieres March 30 on Netflix.
