“There is a reason we don’t engage with the enemy,”—and that reason will become clear when Fox’s The Exorcist returns for a sophomore season.

The second installment features a new storyline and characters while following Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Father Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) to a remote island off the coast of Seattle.

Fox’s chilling promo “Witness” from The Shop channels the original movie through music and editorial style, and offers a “gleefully creepy and haunting look” at the series that “simultaneously makes you want to avert your eyes, and keeps you watching to see what terrors are up next,” according to creative agency.

The 30-second spot introduces viewers to the next chapter of the series where John Cho joins the cast as Andrew Kim, a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children.

The Exorcist was created by Jeremy Slater, and executive produced by Slater, Rolin Jones, Rupert Wyatt, Roy Lee, James Robinson, David Robinson and Barbara Wall.

Season two premieres September 29 on Fox.
