The 2014 Special Olympics USA Games, held in June, has signed on 21st Century Fox as founding partner and presenting media sponsor, bringing the power of Fox Sports and Fox Sports 1 to the games.

Through the deal, the games will be promoted through Fox’s properties including Fox Broadcasting, Fox News, Fox Sports, FX and more than 25 local stations. Fox Sports 1 will air a recap special on its network as well.

The Special Olympics USA Games will be held in New Jersey next June, and will feature 16 Olympic-style sporting events.

Brief Take: Getting a sponsor like Fox Sports will certainly help the games raise their visibility next year, but this deal also helps Fox Sports and new network Fox Sports 1 as they try to add content, gain partners and build its brands.
