PromaxBDA has gathered 34 top entertainment marketing, promotion and design executives to select the winners of the 2014 PromaxBDA Latin America Awards, the association said Wednesday.

For the first time, the association’s Latin America Awards include three new categories that will exclusively honor local programming: News/Current Event, Sports, and Entertainment/Music/Variety promotion. The new categories reflect the dynamic growth of local broadcasting in the region.

The annual awards are the premiere celebration of entertainment marketing and design work created for the Latin America market.

“We’re incredibly excited to have such a diverse group of talent serving on this year’s inaugural jury,” said Stacy La Cotera PromaxBDA’s VP of Global Awards and Development. “We know that these executives’ passion for creativity and innovation will help us celebrate the great promotion, marketing, and design work being produced for the rapidly growing Latin America market.”

The awards will use a two-round judging process similar to the one that La Cotera said has contributed to the success of the PromaxBDA competitions at the North America, European, and global levels.

An initial round of online peer judging will narrow the submissions down to a list of finalists, which will then advance to consideration by the esteemed jury, La Cotera said.

This year, the jury will meet in September in three separate cities—Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and Miami—to determine the final winners.

Previous winners include Fox International Channels Latin America, Turner International Argentina, Injaus Design, NBCUniversal Brasil, and HBO Latin America.

Winners of the 2014 PromaxBDA Latin America Awards will be announced later this fall. The final deadline for entries is August 28.
