Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini star in Dead to Me, the new Netflix comedy that explores the stages of grief through two recently widowed women.

After losing their significant others, Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Cardellini) form an unlikely friendship over their shared grief. Jen is determined to solve her husband’s hit-and-run murder, while Judy offers her support, moves into her guest house, and infuses optimism into Jen’s otherwise sardonic personality.

However, in the midst of their blossoming friendship, things take a dark turn when Jen learns that something’s off with her new friend.

“Let’s just say, wherever Judy goes, chaos tends to follow,” we hear in the trailer.

The series is created by Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls, One Big Happy). Applegate executive produces alongside Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Jessica Elbaum of Gloria Sanchez Productions. James Marsden also stars, alongside Ed Asner and Brandon Scott.

Dead to Me launches globally Friday, May 3 on Netflix.
