Kyle Russell has joined content creation studio AlterEgo as director of operations and development. In his new role, Russell will continue to expand AlterEgo’s live-action, editorial and branding efforts worldwide.

“I welcome Kyle’s incredible prowess and the way he attacks every project with such genuine curiosity and respect. His wealth of knowledge and experience are exactly what we are looking for as we prepare for many exciting new ventures planned for 2023,” said Heather Roymans, partner and director at AlterEgo, in a statement.

Russell began his career in live-action commercial and film production. He’s an alumni of HBO’s The Wire and has worked on campaigns for Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Under Armour. In his decade-long tenure with Discovery, he supported the flagship network while serving as head of marketing production for Investigation Discovery and Travel Channel, where he was instrumental in marketing and branding efforts across all platforms.

“Kyle is one of the most creative, collaborative and resourceful people I have worked with. His ability to take a kernel of an idea and bring it to life was instrumental in the success of our networks. I’m thrilled he is joining the team at AlterEgo and can’t wait to see what they create together,” said Doug Seybert, former group SVP marketing at Investigation Discovery & Travel, also in a statement.

Russell, AlterEgo partners Heather Roymans and Justin Kanner, and Creative Director Erica Kern are long-time collaborators who have worked together on multiple live-action productions, co-branded and sales pieces, and network branding projects together.

“AlterEgo has a clear vision of where the media landscape is headed. It’s inspiring to be in a culture where everyone wants to try out new things and I want to be engaged in building a creative playground that allows people to do their level best. I’m excited to be a part of this new phase of AlterEgo’s story,” said Russell.
