Krysten Ritter is “just trying to make a goddamn living, in this goddamn city,” in Netflix’s trailer for season two of Marvel’s Jessica Jones, which finds the superhero dealing with anger management issues as she confronts her past:

“My whole family was killed in a car accident. Someone did horrific experiments on me. I was abducted, raped and forced to kill someone.”

In season two, Jones is continuing her work as a private investigator in New York City, beginning to put her life back together after taking down her mind-controlling tormenter Kilgrave (David Tennant). Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.

The trailer contains plenty of flashbacks to the first season, including her relationship with Luke Cage (Mike Colter),—whose description of her as a “hard-drinking, short-fused mess of a woman” still holds true—as well as the trauma she experienced with Kilgrave, and her consistent reliance on multiple bottles of whisky.

Netflix also dropped season two footage where Jones explains her general approach to conflict:

“I always deal with threats head on,” she says, “meaning I punch them in the head until they’re unconscious.”

Marvel’s Jessica Jones returns March 8 on Netflix.
