Cause+Effect has hired filmmaker Duncan Sullivan as a director/DP who will focus on developing and directing narrative and docu-style commercial and branded content projects for the creative studio’s clients.
Sullivan is the filmmaker behind the agency’s REI-sponsored short film Brother of Climbing, which explores the lack of diversity in the sport. The film was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick and has been viewed more than 2.4 million times since it’s premiere in March.
Sullivan has also led projects in the retail, music and narrative documentary spaces, with clients such as Vice, Stella Artois, IFC and Weight Watchers. His work has been featured by NPR, GQ, Hypebeast and New York Magazine.
Jason Zemlicka, executive producer/principal, said the agency is excited to have Duncan on board.
“Duncan has an amazing ability to translate a story from concept to completion,” Zemlicka said in a statement. “As a DP, he’s always searching for shots from alternative perspectives and the same can be said about his ideation and direction.”
