During Discovery Communications’ first-quarter earnings conference call this morning, CEO David Zaslav said its content licensing deal with Netflix has had no negative effect on ratings and that Discovery will extend that deal for a third year. Zaslav hinted that he expects other US pay TV operators to offer their own streaming video offers to Discovery as well, meaning additional revenue.

Zaslav also touted the continual ratings improvement of the Oprah Winfrey Network, claiming it is on track to reach cash-flow break-even the second half of this year. He cited the ratings success of other Discovery-owned channels as well, including Animal Planet, Destination America and Velocity.
