​Les Moonves’ showdown with Time Warner Cable was one of the boldest Hollywood moves of 2013 according to TheWrap.com, proving that the CBS boss walked his talk in the retrans battle.

“An A+ for chutzpah, but try not to let this sort of thing happen in the future, okay?” asked The Wrap staff in their year-end post.

Amazon’s wooing of Viacom from Netflix was another TV story that made their “boldest” list, taking some of the wind out of Netflix’s sails in a year that saw near universal acclaim for its originals “House of Cards” and “Orange is the New Black.”

The Wrap says that the timing of the Viacom deal in June suggests that Netflix saw themselves outbid, leaving Amazon with beefed up offerings as their original content production ramps up.

Other bold TV moves this year? “American Idol” cleans house, Mikey twerks for the cameras, and NBC bets on live musicals.
