PromaxBDA is now accepting entries for the 2014 UK Awards, the association announced Thursday.

The annual awards are the UK’s preeminent celebration of broadcast design, marketing and promotion.

“Over the last few years we’ve seen a real increase in the smaller in-house teams and agencies taking the top awards and giving the established players a run for their money,” said Tim Hughes, PromaxBDA UK Executive Board Chair and 2014 Awards Chair. “I think this year more than ever we’re expecting to see everyone playing their ‘A-game’.”

The deadline to enter this year’s competition is September 18. Full details can be found at Promaxbda.org.

A peer-based judging panel of the top marketing and creative directors from all the UK Broadcasters and Agencies will decide the winners, in a process that allows the very best creative to shine through regardless of budget, regardless of broadcaster.

Winners will be announced during the annual PromaxBDA UK Conference October 30-31, 2014 at The Royal Institution, London.

“I think over the last year we’ve seen a resurgence of brand promos in the UK—a whole channel setting out their content with a unique tone of voice. It seems curation is the battle ground that everyone wants to fight for, so I’ll be really interested in seeing the competition for Best Channel Promotion and Channel of The Year,” said Hughes, who is also Marcomms. Director at TLC UK & Ireland. “As always, a dry sense of humour cuts through in the UK, so there could be some cheeky outsiders and guerrilla campaigns taking home prizes.”
