“It takes a monster, to stop a monster” when Marvel’s Jessica Jones returns.
Netflix digs into the superhero private investigator’s origin story in season two of the series, returning March 8 on International Women’s Day.
As Jones (Krysten Ritter) begins to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.
The trailer, set to the Yeah Yeah Yeah song “Runaway,” delves into memories of her family dying in a car accident, as she was taken away and used for medical experiments in a science lab that led to her superhuman strength.
The promo also points to talk-show host Trish Walker, played by Rachael Taylor, emerging as Jones’ sidekick. And it maybe, possibly hints that Kilgrave (David Tennant) is not, in fact, dead.
The cast includes Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse and new cast members Janet McTeer and J.R. Ramirez.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones is produced by showrunner Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight, Dexter), Raelle Tucker (True Blood), Jim Chory (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel’s Iron Fist) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel’s Iron Fist) who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.
