To celebrate the life and legacy of civil rights leaders Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, History has partnered with the King Center to produce a series of short-form films titled “Mountaintop Moments.”

The series — the title for which is drawn from King’s final and eerily prescient speech on April 3, 1968 — feature such stars as Jada Pinkett Smith, Michael Strahan, Marshall “Eminem” Mathers, Sunny Hostin, Deepak Chopra and others talking about how the Kings’ message has influenced their lives. The videos will run on air and across History’s digital and social platforms as well as on Youtube at at The King Center throughout the year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s death.

“The King Center is committed to honoring and sharing the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King, so that all people can unite to create a better future,” said Dr. Bernice King, CEO of the King Center and daughter of the Kings in a statement. “We are thrilled to join with History/A+E Networks to share the ‘Mountaintop Moments’ series and help mobilize people from all walks of life to join this important initiative.”

“History is committed to telling the stories of human endeavor and igniting an interest in learning history through dynamic content that resonates for all of us,” said Sola Winley, executive vice president, corporate strategy and planning, A+E Networks. “Dr. King’s powerful story is enormously important now more than ever and we’re honored to partner with the King Center to spread his inspirational vision.”
