Comcast is weighing three different options for a deal with Time Warner Cable, Reuters reported Tuesday, including a full takeover of the rival provider.
Comcast, the nation’s leading cable provider, is also eyeing whether it can purchase certain Time Warner markets or team up with another cable company to make a play for all of Time Warner’s assets. The Reuters report pointedly noted that that Comcast was looking to team up with a company other than Charter Communications. Cox has expressed interest in a potential deal, Reuters said Tuesday.
Time Warner is the nation’s second largest cable provider.
In the end, Comcast could decide against any bid, Reuters reported, although a full takeover wiould make the most sense if they moved forward, since Time Warner’s markets are complimentary to Comcast’s.
