Fox dropped a teaser promoting the official trailer for its upcoming X-Men-connected series The Gifted that was greenlit on Monday.

The teaser features first footage of the show, and is intended to generate excitement for the release of the full-length trailer set to debut on Monday, May 15.

Co-produced by Marvel Television, the pilot episode is directed by Bryan Singer of X-Men movie fame, and written by Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, who will serve as showrunner.

The action-adventure series will premiere this fall, and focuses on a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

Gifted stars Stephen Moyer (Shots Fired), Amy Acker (Person of Interest), Sean Teale (Reign), Jamie Chung (Gotham), Cobby Bell (Burn Notice), Emma Dumont (Aquarius), Blair Redford (Satisfaction), Natalie Alyn Lind (Gotham) and Percy Hynes White (Night at the Museum 3).
